Rafael was born in Brazil to Argentinian parents, and holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree having major experience in Social Anthropology, language teaching and communication skills. He was accredited a University license for teaching and has been an Australian citizen since 2010.
Being an Anthropologist and bilingual native speaker in Portuguese and Spanish, he has a high interest in multicultural education. Due to his professional activities, Rafael has done extensive travelling across South America. He has created and conducted cultural projects involving remote communities in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, and Brazil.
He came to Australia in 2006 and continued working in the educational area. He worked at TAFE locations in Perth teaching Spanish and delivering in-company language courses to several firms.
Seeking a more personalised, participative and innovative teaching experience, Rafa decided to create Oniria Language Studio in 2008, offering Spanish, Portuguese courses specifically tailored for smaller groups so every student gets ample opportunity to learn and participate in every class.
Along the way, Rafa teamed up with José with delivering beginner and intermediate level Spanish classes. Originally from Guatemala, Jose spent his formative years studying in Australia and is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.
Jose’s principal job is working for the federal public service, assisting newly arrived migrants and clients from culturally diverse backgrounds with multi-lingual and interpreting services and has always had a passion for languages. Oniria Language Studio was the perfect opportunity to pass on his enthusiasm for languages and knowledge to his students!
Together they have joined forces to develop and deliver fun and innovative classes to countless students and look forward to helping you next!
